Brickell (key) - this is a small island in the downtown of Miami that is connected by a very short bridge.

rental units. It is often referred to as the financial gateway to South America. Luxury condominium towers,

Avenue's skyline. And, instead of rolling up the sidewalks at night, Brickell is thronged after hours with

project has topped out on NE 17th Street and Bayshore Drive with plans for two additional towers on the
site. The $246 million, twin 67-story Bayshore Palms is planned for a parcel of land off Brickell Avenue,
between SE 12th & 14th Streets.
The new owners of the Omni, close to Brickell corporate rental area, are repositioning the facility for the
future. Both the $250 million dollar performing Arts Center and Magic Johnson's theatre complex are in
advanced stages of planning. The old arena has been deemed a venue for concerts and specials events. And
the Port of Miami continues to leave its mark as one of the most impressive passenger ports in the world,
drawing visitors to Brickell corporate rental area of influence.
Several hotels and Brickell corporate rental developers have committed to build across from the new arena
and there is talk about developing a new baseball stadium. New uses are being sought for old warehouses in
the blocks west of Biscayne Boulevard.
Even well-known names are becoming players in this resurgence, including Big Time Productions' purchase of
an art deco warehouse on Northeast 14th Street to be used as a post-production center. Other changes
emerging include the relocation of Parrot Jungle to Watson Island.
Overall, developments for the downtown area, currently on the drawing board, are approaching the $3 billion
dollar mark. All in all, these investments will bring revenue to the city, the Brickell corporate rental
community and individuals as well.
